Letters to the Editor
Sir, I refer to the front-page photo of the malnourished child (July 25). That such a state of affairs continues despite claims by governments that they are working on eradicating malnutrition and poverty is unfortunate. A commitment to improve primary health care will go a long way in identifying malnutrition and taking corrective action. Many studies have recommended intervention programmes but what is lacking is the political will to implement them.
Prasanna Kumar B.V.,
Sir, The portrayal of Shravan is poignant. It highlights the need for poverty alleviation and population stabilisation. Only when the gap between the rich and poor is narrowed will the nation be able to tackle such challenges.
