THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JULY 25 . The body of Marcos (43) found near the canal at the Vizhinjam Harbour on Saturday morning was buried amidst tight police security today. The body was bought to Vizhinjam after post mortem at the Medical College Hospital. According to the police, the District Collector, Tinku Biswal, had to intervene following opposition from a section of locals to the body being buried in the church premises at Kottapuram. Finally after the talks the District Collector with the two groups and others, the body was buried by 5-30 p.m. in the church premises at Kottapuram. The City Police Commissioner, Balaram Kumar Upadhyaya, and senior officials camped at Vizhinjam late in the evening. A country boat was torched in the harbour area in the early hours today and police intervened immediately and doused the flames. According to the police, the situation in the harbour area, where a clash between two sections of one community broke out on Friday, is peaceful. No arrests have been made. The police are still camping in the locality.
