NEW DELHI, JULY 26 . A man, who kidnapped for ransom his employer's 11-month-old child, has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a city court.
Holding that convict Sanjeep did an ``inhuman and barbaric act'' and therefore deserves no leniency, the Additional Sessions Judge, Chandra Sekhar, also imposed a fine of Rs 8,000 on him.
On July 25, 2000, the boy's father lodged a complaint with the police saying his employee Sanjeep kidnapped the child and was demanding over phone Rs 50,000 as ransom.
With the help of police, a trap was laid after three days and Sanjeep was arrested at Chandpur tempo stand. PTI
