Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, JULY 26. The sky on Tuesday will be partly cloudy with the possibility of a shower in some areas during late evening or night. On Monday, the maximum temperature in Nungambakkam was 36.3 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 24. At Meenambakkam, the temperatures were 36.6 and 25.1. Humidity was 62 and 61 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended in Besant Nagar area on Tuesday.

Installed

A community rainwater harvesting system has been installed at Akshaya Park in Akshaya Colony by the Civic Exnora. The project is funded by Rotary Club of Madras Pallava (R.I. Dist 3230).

Pollution level

Suspended Particulate Matter was below the permissible limit of 100 micrograms in Anna Nagar residential area at 84 mcg/cm and 92 mcg/cm at T.Nagar traffic intersection. The particulate matter was beyond the permissible limit of 100 mcg/cm at Anna Nagar and Thyagaraya Nagar at 111 and 126. The sulphur dioxide and oxides of nitrogen levels were well below the permissible levels in both areas. The survey was done on Friday and Saturday by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board under the Chennai Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Programme.
