Visaka Industries net up 23 p.c.
HYDERABAD: Visaka Industries has commenced trial production of its expanded capacity in its synthetic blended yarn division. Commercial production would commence in September, a month ahead of schedule, said G. Vivekanand, Managing Director. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said Rs. 32 crores was invested in expansion to take the yarn capacity to 600 tonnes from 200 tonnes.
The Rs. 21 crore, 60,000 tonnes per annum asbestos cement unit proposed at Tumkur was awaiting environmental clearance, he said, while announcing results for the quarter ended June.The company recorded a 52 per cent growth in income at Rs. 54.96 crores and a 23 per cent growth in net profit at Rs. 2.79 crores, for the quarter, as compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.
