Muslim quota case hearing adjourned

HYDERABAD,
JULY 27.
Hearing on petitions filed challenging the Constitutional validity of providing reservations for Muslims in the State was adjourned to August 2 by a five-judge Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court today.
The State Government had issued a GO on July 12 providing 5 per cent reservations for the Muslims in the field of education and public employment. Various writ petitions were filed against the same. A Division Bench of the court suspended the operation of the GO and posted the matter to a Bench of five judges comprising Justice B. Sudershan Reddy, Justice Chelameswar, Justice Gopal Reddy, Justice Ghulam Mohammed and Justice K.C. Bhanu. Several petitions seeking to implead into the main cases have been ordered by the Bench.
