KARUR, JULY 27 . A silent procession was taken out here today to pay homage to the Kumbakonam school fire victims. The president of the District Chamber of Commerce, K. Raju, led the procession. The Municipal Chairman, K.V. Ramasamy, took part in the procession. Those belonging to the District Dyeing and Bleaching Factory Owners' Association, financiers, master printers, jewellers, hotel owners, handloom exporters, yarn merchants and lorry owners including women took part in the march.

Members of the Thaiyal Kalaignargal Sangam took out a procession from here today to pay homage to the Kumbakonam children. Later, they observed silence for a few minutes.
A section of vegetable traders took out a procession here in the morning, police sources said.
