Thanjavur advocates will not press for bail

KUMBAKONAM,
JULY 27.
Bail applications of nine Educational department officials arrested in connection with July 16 school fire accident here came up for hearing before the judicial magistrate court today.
As the advocates here have decided not to appear for any accused, advocates from Thanjavur appeared for them. But the local advocates raised objections and after discussions, the Thanjavur advocates decided not to press for bail for the accused.
The bail applications were for Muthu Palaniswamy, Chief Educational Officer and eight others of the department.
Twelve days after the accident, Kumbakonam returned to normality today.
