YRTV triumphs

SIVAKASI, JULY 27. YRTV Matriculation School lifted the Papco A. Mariappan Memorial Trophy defeating KVS Higher Secondary School (Virudhunagar) by seven wickets in the last match of the four-team league in the Virudhunagar district schools under-15 cricket tournament here on Sunday.

YRTV Matriculation School tied with KV Sala Higher Secondary School (Virudhunagar) for honours, with two wins each, but YRTVM emerged winner on a better run-rate.

The scores: KVS HSS 57 in 22 overs (Kaushik three for nine, Thanga Arun three for 13) lost to YRTVM School 58 for three in 11.3 overs.

Earlier results: Jaycees Matriculation School w/o KVS Matriculation School.

KVS HSS 114 in 25 overs (Manikanda Muthuram three for 20, Sakthi Adityan three for 16) bt KVS Matric School 77 in 21.5 overs.

YRTVMSS 73 in 22 overs (Deepak three for 12) bt Jaycees MHS 64 in 22 overs (Kaushik three for 12).

YRTVMHSS 57 in 14.1 overs (Abdul three for 12, Manickam three for 15) lost to KVS Matric School 58 for five in 18.3 overs (V. Prithiviraj three for 11).

KVSHSS 83 in 22.3 overs (Om Prakash three for 20) bt Jaycees Matriculation School 70 in 18.2 overs.
