Santhosh Gopi shines

MADURAI, JULY 27. An all-round show by Santhosh Gopi (99 and five for 30) helped Freak Cricket Club carve out a handsome 110-run victory over SBOA Cricket Club in the Indian Bank - Madurai District Cricket Association first division `A' zone league here on Sunday.

The scores:

First division `A' zone: Freak CC 289 for seven in 48 overs (Sethuraman 35, Robert Vinay Raina 44, Santhosh Gopi 99, Basha Fakruddin 34) bt SBOA CC 179 in 35 overs (Mari 34, Muruganandham 44, Santhosh Gopi five for 30).

Supersonic CC 225 in 43.4 overs (Shanmugasundaram 56, Prakash 29, Roche Jeyaseelan 58 not out, Shyam Sundar three for 50) lost to Srichakra CC 226 for four in 36.1 overs (Ramasubramani 30, Balasubramanian 60, Anbazhagan 35, Shyam Sunder 28 not out).

`B' zone: Majestic Toddlers CC 104 in 29 overs (Senthil three for 30, Gunaseelan three for 24) lost to Freak Amigos CC 105 for four in 17 overs (Ganesan 37 not out, Gokul three for 33).

Third division: Aparajitha XI 97 in 27 overs (T. Saran 25, Abraar Essa four for 16) lost to Babu Academy CC 98 for nine in 24.5 overs (Senthil 27 not out, Ashok four for 18).
