Sridharan exudes confidence

COIMBATORE, JULY 27. The Indian volleyball team will take on fancied Iran in the opening encounter of the Rashid International tournament in Dubai on July 30.

The team coach, G.E. Sridharan, said, "We hope to do well against Iran. We have not won a match against them in recent times. On almost all occasions we have lost in five-setters but our boys look forward to winning this time."

Sridharan was disappointed that the Central Asian Zone championship could not come off at Vishakapatnam earlier this month. "It did slightly affect the team's preparations ahead of the Rashid tourney. Our boys could have gained vital exposure." — Our Sports Reporter
