Pension for former MLAs hiked

HYDERABAD,
JULY 27.
The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, has announced that the monthly pension for former MLAs will be increased from Rs.1000 to Rs.4000 for those who served for a single term and from Rs.2,000 to Rs.6,500 for those who served for more than one term.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing the members of the AP former Legislators Forum on Tuesday.
Dr. Reddy also assured them that medical facilities would be extended to them on a par with MLAs. He said the Government would examine and decide on the other demands, including the issue of bus passes to former legislators.
