Low pressure area forms

VISAKHAPATNAM. JULY 27. A low pressure area formed over northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining west central Bay on Tuesday morning, according to a special weather bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre here.

Under its influence rain or thundershower is likely at many places over coastal Andhra in next 36 hours. Strong winds from westerly direction with speed reaching 45-55 kmph are likely along and off coastal Andhra in next 24 hours.

Chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm during the last 24-hour period ending at 8.30 a.m. on Tuesday are: Anakapalle - 6; Salur and Chodavaram - 4 each; Parvathipuram, Prakasam barrage - 3 each and Gajapathinagaram and Visakhapatnam (airport) - 2 each.
