Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, JULY 27. The sky will be partly cloudy on Wednesday, with the possibility of light shower in some areas during late evening or night. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was 34.6 degrees Celsius at both Nungambakkam and Meenambakkam and the minimum was 27.6 at both places. Humidity was 48 and 49 per cent.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Thursday in parts of Nammalwarpet, Egmore, Mandaveli, and Santhome.

Pollution level

Tests of Chennai's air quality by the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board between Monday morning and Tuesday morning revealed that while the quantity of `respirable suspended particulate matter' at traffic intersections at Vallalar Nagar remained within the permissible limit of 100 microgrammes per cubic metre, it exceeded the limit by 44 microgrammes per cubic metre at Kilpauk.

The measures of particulate matter at Kilpauk and Vallalar Nagar were 363 and 255 microgrammes per cubic metre respectively.

Free workshop
