Rain likely

One or two spells of rain or thundershowers is forecast for Wednesday.

At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 30.5 degrees Celsius and the minimum 24.6 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 87 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. was 93 per cent. Rainfall up to 8.30 a.m. was 1.3 mm and up to 8.30 p.m., it was 1.5 mm.

At airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 32.4 degree Celsius and 25.0 degree Celsius respectively.

Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 82 per cent and at 5.30 p.m. 88 per cent. Rainfall up to 8.30 a.m. was 24.4 mm and up to 8.30 p.m. 11.5 mm. The minimum temperature at the Dolphin's Nose was 22.4 degree Celsius and humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 86 per cent. Rainfall up to 8.30 a.m. was 2.5 mm.

NTPC gesture

The NTPC Simhadri Thermal Power Project has donated Rs. 5 lakhs to the King George Hospital and Rs. one lakh to the Lebenshilfe School for the Mentally Challenged.

The NTPC Simhadri General Manager, R. Rama Rao, presented the chequesto the in-charge Superintendent of the KGH, C.V. Rao, and the Lebenshilfe executive director, T. Saraswati Devi.

NCC camp

A combined annual training camp for senior and junior division boy and girl cadets was inaugurated by the NCC Camp Commandant, L.N. Shantaram, at AP Residential School in Simhachalam on Tuesday. About 750 cadets and 12 associate NCC officers from Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts are participating.
