GUNTUR, JULY 27. The Guntur district police are determined to curb the increasing atrocities against women through a multi-pronged strategy of bringing awareness among girls and women of all ages on their rights and laws in vougue. The Superintendent of Police, Ravi Shankar Ayyannar, said that a one-day interactive seminar on `Crime against Women' would be organised in the city on Thursday by involving representatives of non-governmental organisations, women's organisations and release a 100-page book `Policulu Meeru' in Telugu on various laws and provisions related to atrocities on women. The book would be disbursed free of cost to the NGOs.
Paintings show
An exhibition of paintings by a lecturer, Parvathi, from one of the local colleges would be an added attraction after the power-point presentation on the topic by Dr. Ayyannar. Paintings on `atrocities against women' along with colour photographs of real-life incidents would be displayed at the venue.
