HYDERABAD, JULY 27. A person, who allegedly tried to kill his wife in an inebriated condition, died when he was hit on his head with a frying pan early on Tuesday. The victim's wife, B. Lata, surrendered before the Alwal police after informing the watchman of the apartment where the couple reside that she had killed her husband, B.N. Raju. "She told us that Raju got addicted to alcohol and used to beat her every day," the Alwal Sub-Inspector, Balakoti, said. According to her, Raju came in an inebriated condition last evening and thrashed her after picking up a quarrel over a petty issue. When Lata resisted, he allegedly dragged her into a car and took her to Hasmatpet tank and threatened to kill her. "Apparently, under the influence of alcohol, Raju pushed Lata into the waters. After sometime, he brought her to the flat and again beat her. He hurled a frying pan at her following which she sustained a bleeding injury on her leg. In a fit of rage, she hit back at him with the same pan resulting in his instantaneous death," police said. Lata was sent to hospital for treatment after registering a case of murder against her.
