NEW DELHI, JULY 27. The wife of gangster, Anil alias Bhagte, who was killed in an encounter with the Crime Branch of the Delhi police in the early hours of Tuesday, allegedly committed suicide during the day by consuming some poisonous substance in her house at Sonepat in Haryana. According to Haryana police sources, Pooja allegedly consumed some poisonous pills at her house at Kundli in Sonepat a few hours after she got the news of her husband being killed in the encounter. She was taken to Civil Hospital where she died. While no suicide note was recovered, her family members told the police that Pooja, mother of two minor girls, aged four and six, had been passing through a phase of depression for the past few months. "She used to remain concerned over the activities of her husband and was passing through a phase of depression as Anil showed no signs of mending his ways," said a Haryana police officer.
