dated July 29, 1954: Award for Indian film

The Indian film "Do Bigha Zamin" won the "Struggle for Social Progress" prize, along with the Polish film "Cellulose" at the 8th International Film Festival at Karlovyvary, Czechoslovakia, which ended on July 25, says a Tass news agency message. The grand prize of the festival was awarded to the Soviet film "True Friends" and the American film "Salt of the Earth".
