HYDERABAD, JULY 28 . It was a tumultuous homecoming. The return of the native was marked by sloganeering, jostling and frenzied dancing. The former Telugu Desam legislator, D. Nagender, who visited Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday and formally rejoined the Congress, was given a rousing welcome by his supporters. Mr. Nagender, who recently resigned from the TDP, giving up the Asifnagar seat, travelled in an open jeep with a huge procession from the New MLA Quarters to Gandhi Bhavan. En route, he was cheered and garlanded by supporters. He entered Gandhi Bhavan around noon, to the sound of drums and firecrackers.
