Gulbarga
By Our Special Correspondent
GULBARGA, JULY 28. Masked dacoits armed with pistols looted a Bellary-bound North-Eastern Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (NEKRTC) bus on the Gulbarga-Bangalore State Highway near Mudbal (B) on Tuesday night and took away cash and gold jewellery worth over Rs. 68,000. The police said the five-member gang boarded the bus in Gulbarga. The dacoits pointed a pistol at the driver's head and asked him to stop the bus near Mudbal (B) and went on a looting spree. While one of the dacoits stood near the driver, the others robbed the passengers of Rs. 21,000 in cash, 60 grams of gold ornaments, five mobile phones and a wristwatch. The gang beat up Pavadappa, a passenger from Bijapur, for refusing to part with cash. He has been admitted to a hospital with head injuries.
