Ex-MLA dead

VIZIANAGARAM, JULY 28. The former MLA, Boddu Kalavathi, died of massive heart attack here on Wednesday. She was 64 and is survived by an adopted son.

Kalavathi, a former MLA from Madugula in Visakhapatnam district for a term from 1972, had served as the District Congress Committee president in two spells between 1989 and 1995. Later, she had distanced from the party and established Mahalakshmi Welfare Society for Women and Children. She had joined the TDP prior to the last Assembly elections.
