Karthik, Chirag set up title clash
MYSORE,
JULY 29.
Top-seed Karthik Dhore and second-seed Chirag S. Igoor, both of Mysore, sailed into the boys' singles final of the Karnataka State-ranking under-12 tournament at the Cosmopolitan Club courts here on Thursday.
In the first semifinal, Chirag beat C.M. Kiran 6-2, 6-1 while Karthik Dhore defeated Dheeraj Kumar 6-0, 6-3 to enter the final.
The results: Boys (semifinals): Chirag S. Igoor bt C.M. Kiran 6-2, 6-1; Karthik Dhore bt Dheeraj Kumar 6-0, 6-3. Girls (Quarterfinals): J. Pooja bt M.C. Rajni 6-2, 6-0; Amoolya bt Lehari 6-0, 6-0.
Wednesday's results: Boys (quarterfinals): C.M. Kiran bt Taraka Fernando (Sri Lanka) 6-3, 6-2; Chirag S Igoor bt S. Karan 6-0, 6-1; Karthik Dhore bt Dumindi D. Mudsham (Sri Lanka) 6-0, 6-4; Dheeraj Kumar bt A. Santosh 6-7(3), 6-1, 6-4.
Girls (second round): Lehari bt Apeksha V. Raker 8-3; M.C. Rajni bt Nidha 8-1; B.S. Pooja bt M. Sanjana 8-3; Nihari R. Hubli w/o M.P. Nitha; M.P. Supriya bt Heena 8-3.
