Madurai
By Our Staff Reporter
MADURAI, JULY 29 . The Sub-Regional Office (SRO) of the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation has called upon establishments to cooperate with it in providing the National Social Security Number (NSSN) to the subscribers. An official release here said the process of allotting the NSSN to the subscribers under the reinventing EPF India programme began, and 200 camps had already been conducted in Tamil Nadu. The camps were aimed at photographing the subscribers before giving them the NSSN and identity cards. A cell, manned by a nodal officer, has been formed to monitor the project in the southern districts. The SRO in Madurai covers Madurai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Theni, Dindigul and Virudhunagar districts. The establishments can obtain information about the NSSN from the offices at Madurai (telephone no: 2523676), Dindigul (2400106) and Sivakasi (221582). The NSSN will facilitate faster settlement of claims and transfer of accounts, besides helping the subscribers get an easy access to information about their accounts. Nearly 40 per cent of the preliminary work in training the employers in furnishing data has been completed in the Madurai area. Efforts are on to conduct camps for photographing the subscribers. The establishments are advised to contact the SRO, Madurai, or the district offices, to give the data at the earliest.
