R.K. Puram boys reign

BANGALORE, JULY 30. R.K. Puram claimed a double in the boys' team events while Maruti Kunj had mixed fortunes in the girls team finals in the All India inter-Delhi Public School table tennis tournament, hosted by DPS Bangalore South at its premises here today.

The results:

Senior boys: R.K. Puram (Delhi) bt Guwahati 2-0 (Ramit bt Nayan Jyoti 11-9, 11-4, 11-5); Ramit/Deepanshu bt Nayan/Tanhar 11-9, 11-3, 6-11, 11-6).

Junior boys: R.K. Puram (Delhi) bt Mathura Road 2-1 (Karthik lost to Dhruv Arora 5-11, 6-11, 8-11; Ishaan/Karthik bt Dhruv/Akash Devan 11-9, 10-12, 11-6, 11-8; Ishaan bt Akash Devan 11-5, 11-5, 11-6).

Senior girls: Bokaro bt Maruti Kunj 2-0 (Akansha bt Kalpana Yadav 11-4, 11-8, 11-5; Akansha/Akansha Nidhi bt Paridhi Diwan/Shefali Singh 11-7, 11-6, 11-5).

Junior girls: Maruti Kunj bt Vadodra 2-1 (Monica bt Mohua 12-14, 11-9, 12-10, 7-11, 11-9; Monica/Payal lost to Mohua/Kolika 11-8, 6-11, 8-11, 11-7, 7-11; Payal bt Kolika 11-13, 11-9, 9-11, 11-9, 11-5).
