HYDERABAD, JULY 30. Visakhapatnam will play Chittoor in the final of the first Andhra inter-district super league hockey championship at the Begumpet Police Stadium here on Saturday.
In the last league match, Vizag scored a 3-1 win over Nellore. Ramesh converted a penalty stroke in the 10th minute. He scored again 10 minutes later off a penalty corner. Winger Satyanarayana completed the winner's tally.
Chittoor defeated East Godavari 5-2. Ramesh struck in the third and seventh minutes. In the 21st minute, Yuvakishore made it 3-0.
In the second sesession, Lokesh converted a `stroke' and Vinod Raju a penalty corner to increase the lead to 5-0. East Godavari scored two goals in the final minutes thanks to complacency in the rival defence, which conceded a stroke. Naga Srinu made no mistake. Sekhar Babu scored the other goal for the loser.
