HYDERABAD, JULY 30. A GIS, GPS-based Mobile Tracking and Voice Logging system -- e-Rakshak -- was launched at the Sardar Vallabhabhai Patel National Police Academy here on Thursday. The project, inaugurated by the NPA Director, Ganeshwar Jha, is a comprehensive package for a model Police Control Room. The project will identify the place or address of the person calling for help and record the conversation between the caller and the control room operator. It will also help online updating by mobile parties about the action taken and exact location of patrol vehicles on the digital map. The system will have multi-pronged advantages like faster emergency response, crime mapping and jurisdictional analysis, according to a press release.
