Cloudy day

NEW DELHI JULY 30. A generally cloudy sky has been forecast for the Capital on Saturday. According to the weatherman, rain or thundershowers are also likely in some areas.

The maximum and minimum temperature recorded at Safdarjung on Friday was 37.2 and 27.5 degrees Celsius respectively. At Palam, the maximum and minimum temperature was 37.5 and 28.1 degrees Celsius respectively.

The maximum humidity recorded at Safdarjung and Palam was 82 per cent and 83 per cent; Safdarjung recorded a minimum humidity of 51 per cent, while at Palam minimum humidity was 50 per cent.

Four nabbed

NEW DELHI JULY 30. Four men allegedly involved in 14 cases of auto-lifting and burglary were arrested at Bhajanpura in North-East Delhi on July 28. A car, three motorcycles and other stolen articles along with knives have been recovered at their instance.

Acting on a tip-off that three young men riding a stolen motorcycle would come to Yamuna Vihar. Subsequently, a trap was laid near a school and the motorcycle was intercepted. The suspects tried to flee but were arrested. They were identified as Ashraf, Tahir and Husne Alam. Two more arrests were made later.

Man arrested

NEW DELHI JULY 30. A man who allegedly had been criminally assaulting a 26-year-old married woman for the past several weeks at Sarojini Nagar in South-West Delhi, was arrested by the police today.

According to the police, the victim lodged a complaint with the Sarojini Nagar police station alleging that her neighbour, Kamlesh Dubey, had been criminally assaulting her for the past several weeks. The victim is a resident of Arjun Das Camp in Sarojini Nagar. She alleged that Kamlesh was also forcing her to live with him.

Case registered

NEW DELHI JULY 30. A case of causing death due to negligence has been registered against the nursing home in North Delhi where the 32-year-old wife of a Delhi police sub-inspector died after delivering a baby girl this past Tuesday.

Robber held

NEW DELHI JULY 30. A 30-year-old man, who along with his accomplices had allegedly robbed a man of Rs. 37 lakhs in South Delhi four years ago, was arrested from Tis Hazari Courts by the Narcotics Branch of the Delhi police on July 28.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Narcotics Branch), D.L. Kashyap, the police received a tip-off that Mohammad Rashid would come to Tis Hazari Courts. Subsequently, a trap was laid and the accused arrested.
