KOLKATA, JULY 31. Six Birla family members have filed objections to Rajendra S. Lodha's probate application in the Calcutta High Court for legal authentication of the disputed will of the late Priyamvada Birla. Confirming the development, Birlas' lawyer, N. G. Khaitan, said here today that affidavits in opposition had been filed yesterday. He also confirmed that the objections had been filed by K. K. Birla, B. K. Birla, G. P. Birla, Yashovardhan Birla and two sisters of the late M. P. Birla Laxshmi Bai Newar and Radha Bai Mohta. Birlas' lawyer, however, declined to give any detail about the contents of the affidavits in opposition. Earlier, six Birlas had filed caveats in the High Court to ensure their right to be heard when Mr. Lodha's probate petition for legal authentication of the purported will of the late Priyamvada Birla was taken up for hearing. Notices had been issued to five members of the Birla family on July 23 after the probate application was filed by Mr. Lodha on July 19 and as per rules the Birlas were to reply within a stipulated timeframe of eight days.
