PONDICHERRY, JULY 31. The Karaikal District Welfare Association has urged the Lieutenant Governor, M.M. Lakhera, to take steps for renovation of the nearly 900-year-old Aathiappar Sivan temple at Keezhakasakudi near Karaikal. V.R. Dhanaseelan, president and Ram Palanivelan, secretary, in their memorandum to Mr. Lakhera during his visit to Karaikal, said the temple constructed by Raja Raja Chola II was in a dilapidated condition. Steps should be taken to restore the temple.
