ISLAMABAD, JULY 31. Pakistan is considering a proposal to allow the screening of Indian movies in local theatres. There is a ban on screening of Indian films after the 1965 war. The Pakistan Minister of Sports, Culture, Tourism, Minorities and Youth Affairs, Rais Munir, informed the National Assembly that the pros and cons of the proposal would be submitted to the Cabinet for consideration. If approved, the schedule and procedure would be announced. ``The procedure will be decided in the light of the Government's policy decision,'' he said. Mr. Munir claimed that this step would help revive the country's fragile film and cinema business. After this decision, the Indian film industry would stop producing ``anti-Pakistan pictures, which fuelled hatred among the people of the two countries,'' he added. The Minister told the House that the decision would help the Government raise revenue and help generate employment for technicians in related fields.
