AHMEDABAD, JULY 31. Activists of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal today ransacked a cinema hall in Amreli town in the Saurashtra region of Gujarat for screening controversial film Girlfriend. The local VHP president, G.J. Gajera, said the film was against the Indian culture and the VHP and the Dal would not allow its screening anywhere. The posters of the film were set afire and the screen damaged, forcing closure of the hall.
