CHENNAI, JULY 31. The suspension of the former Home Secretary, S. Munir Hoda, and the Deputy Secretary, P. Kirupakaran, is a fallout of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MP, C. Kuppusami's petition to the Central Bureau of Investigation, the party president, M. Karunanidhi, said today. Mr. Kuppusami, in his petition, said attempts were being made to hush up the stamp paper scam, and the suspension of the officials proved his charges true, the DMK leader told newsmen here. Asked whether he would demand that the CBI enquire the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, he said the agency would do its duty and he would not advise it who it should question. Referring to the petition given by the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MPs to the CBI Director demanding that a case be registered against him, Mr. Karunanidhi said it was to counter the memorandum submitted by the Democratic Progressive Alliance to the Governor recently.
