Activation of BSNL recharge coupons simplified

CHENNAI, JULY 31. The Tamil Nadu Telecom Circle has introduced a new facility to make activation of recharge coupons simpler and easier for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited's pre-paid mobile phone subscribers in the State, including those of Chennai Telephones, and in Kerala.

The activation can be done by dialing *111*, the 14-digit secret code and #, according to a press release. After dialing the combination, the subscriber needs to press the call button or its equivalent.

The new facility, a senior official of the circle says, will enable the subscriber to avoid mistakes while entering the secret code. The existing system to activate, which will also be available, requires the subscribers to dial 123 and access the Integrated Voice Response System (IVRS).

Many of the subscribers make mistakes while keying in the secret code in the IVRS.
