BJP a destructive Opposition, says AICC leader

TIRUPATI, JULY 31. The secretary of the All India Congress Committee (AICC), P. Sudhakar Reddy, has flayed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for playing the role of a `destructive opposition' in the recent parliament sessions.

`Ulterior motive'

Seeing an `ulterior motive' behind the BJP's tactics of disrupting House proceedings, he suggested the party to behave in a more decent manner. "The Congress is pained at the way even the former Prime Minister, A.B. Vajpayee, hailed as a man of values, supported the misinformation campaign,'' he said. Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, Mr. Reddy said that the party did everything to blow the `tainted' Ministers issue out of proportion. While the BJP seniors -- L.K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi -- themselves were accused in the Babri demolition case and the NDA convener, George Fernandes, involved in the defence scam, what right did they have to raise the issue, he asked.
