Protests on in Manipur

IMPHAL, JULY 31. Widespread protests continued in Manipur today with hundreds of people courting arrest, defying prohibitory orders, to press for withdrawal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act. A New Delhi reports says that the Chief Minister, O. Ibobi Singh, met Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee and discussed the situation in the State. — PTI
