SHIROOR (UDUPI DISTRICT), JULY 31. The Union Minister of State for Programme Implementation and Statistics, Oscar Fernandes, on Saturday said that probe ordered by the Railway Minister, Lalu Prasad, into the Godhra incident would bring out all the facts. Responding to questions at a press meet here, on the charge by the National Democratic Alliance that the probe had been ordered to score political points, Mr. Fernandes said that any investigation was ordered to bring out facts. To a question, he said there was no major divergence in views among the constituents of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA), the ruling coalition at the Centre. When different parties came together, each might have to give up some of its own programmes and accept some of the views of the other parties. The differences were only over issues such as disinvestment and privatisation, he added.
Disinvestment
He said it was the policy of the Congress during the tenure of Manmohan Singh as Union Finance Minister to wind up loss-making public sector units that could not be revived. But there were some differences in approach to disinvestment between the Congress and the Left parties.
