BANGALORE, JULY 31. S.M. Krishna, former Chief Minister, has said that he is thinking of taking legal action against the former Assistant Commissioner of Police T.G. Sangram Singh for his "defamatory" allegations. Mr. Krishna told The Hindu here today that he had told his legal advisors to look into the allegations and take appropriate action. "The 42 years of my public life are transparent enough, and I need no certificate from such discredited police officers. The law will take its course," he added. The former Chief Minister, who was away in Europe and the U.S. for nearly a month, said he was of the opinion that there was an organised effort to defame him and the previous Government. The "ridiculous" allegations reflected on the state of mind of the person concerned, and it was only a mentally disturbed person who could make such allegations, he added. Mr. Krishna said that the efforts of the previous Government to unearth the stamp paper racket "bears eloquent testimony of the honesty and integrity with which it pursued the case."
