SIRSI, JULY 31. Crop insurance worth Rs. 2.25 crores has been released to Murkawad hobli in Haliyal taluk. The amount has been credited to Kanara District Central Cooperative Bank. The bank would distribute the amount among six cooperative societies in the hobli, S.L. Gotnekar, president of the bank, said in a press release. Since 1987, crop insurance worth Rs. 35.46 crores was released to Uttara Kannada district, he added.
