KOZHIKODE, JULY 31. The Kozhikode Vigilance Inquiry Commissioner and Special Judge, M.R. Gopalakrishnan Nair, today posted to September 25, the case based on a complaint of bribery charges against three leaders of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) on issuing of Non Objection Certificate (NOC) to a B..Ed College. The three accused IUML leaders, N.Mamootty, Textfed chairman, P.C. Ahmed, Wayanad district general secretary of the party and P.P.V. Moosa, former MLA and the complainant, Jomon Puthenpurackal were present. However, the advocate of the complainant was not present. The B.Ed. college was floated by a trust of the Malabar Diocese of Jacobite Orthodox Syrian Church in Meenangadi in Wayanad district. The Metropolitan (Malabar Diocese) of Jacobite Orthodox Syrian Church, Yuhannon Mar Philexinos, had stated before the Inquiry Commissioner on February 6 that he believed that his diocese was not sanctioned the B.Ed. College as the bribe of Rs. 2.5 lakhs demanded by the three accused was not paid. However, the Government, which had earlier denied NOC to this BEd College, had issued the NOC last month.
