CHENNAI, JULY 31. A Bangalore police team, which has come here to investigate the death of Nandini Rao, 79, has picked up a 45-year-old woman in the city, police sources said today. According to them, Selvi, a resident of T. Nagar, had introduced Vimala, the prime suspect in the murder, to the victim's daughter, who later sent her to work at her mother's house in Bangalore. On interrogation, Selvi told police that she met Vimala a few days before she was introduced to the victim's daughter. According to her Vimala, a native of Tiruvannamalai was looking for job in Chennai after escaping attempts by some men to assault her. However top police officials maintained that the investigation is still at the enquiry level. We now have to verify whether Selvi was involved in any conspiracy to murder the woman, said a senior police official.
