Cloudy sky

CHENNAI, JULY 31. The sky will be generally cloudy on Sunday with possibility of shower or thundershower in some areas late in the evening or night.

On Saturday, Nungambakkam recorded a maximum temperature of 33.9 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.4 degrees Celsius, while Meenambakkam recorded 33.8 and 25.5 degrees Celsius respectively. Humidity at Nungambakkam was 68 per cent and at Meenambakkam, 89 per cent. Rainfall recorded at Meenambakkam was 1.8 mm.

Power cut

Power supply will be suspended on Monday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. in parts of Ennore, due to maintenance work.

Redressal forum

The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board has launched its consumer grievances redressal forum. Grievances must be submitted in writing to the forum's chairperson. It will function from office of the Superintending Engineer, CEDC/Central, 110 KV Valluvar Kottam SS Complex/TNEB, Kodambakkam High Rd., Nungambakkam. It can be reached atl: cgrfchnc@tnebnet.org.

Aadi sale

The Tamil Nadu Handicrafts Development Corporation has announced a 10-15 per cent discount sale for the Aadi at the Poompuhar showroom on Anna Salai. It will end on August 13.

Eye camp

A two-day free eye check up camp was organised by Mahavir International, in association with Chennai Metro and Gremaltes Hospital at Vadapalani on Friday. Nearly 340 people were screened.

Lecture

A special lecture on `Knowledge Management' was delivered by S. Srinivasan of the firm Deloitte Huskins & Sells recently at the Guru Shree Shantivijai Jain College for Women at Vepery.
