He said that seven artistes who were involved with Yakshagana for the past 30 years would be felicitated on the occasion. One artiste would be felicitated each day. Promoting art
Mr. Rao said that the programme was being organised to promote Yakshagana and create interest in the art among the youth. Yakshagana was the part of the culture of the coastal and the Malnad belt. The youth should take the lead to carry forward this rich art. He said that since people might not have time to watch the show for whole night, the organisers had decided to have the shows from 5.30 p.m. and to 9.30 p.m. every day.
The episodes
Hiranyaksha-Hiranyakashipu Vadhe, Bhaktha Sudhanwa, Tamradhawaja Kalaga, Nala Charitre, Krishna Leele-Kamsavadhe, Panchavati and Karthaveeryarjuna episodes would be staged during the week.
