Killed in

mishap

Forty-year-old Shiva Kumar of Venkatapuram died after he was hit by a vehicle while he was crossing the road at Lothkunta on Friday. He was into clothes business. Bolaram police registered a case.

In a separate mishap, D.Praveen Kumar (20) of Moulali died when the motorcycle he was driving was hit by a lorry at Mallapur on Friday.

Booty recovered

Two of the four-member gang who looted the house of a businessman at Banjara Hills were nabbed by the Banjara Hills police on Saturday. The police recovered the entire stolen property. They were identified as -- Chinna Yellaiah of Jubilee Hills and Syed Murtuza Quadri of Aliabad.

The Santoshnagar police on Saturday arrested two persons -- Daulath Hussain and Syed Yaseen -- of Falaknuma and recovered gold ornaments worth RS 45,000.

Bikes recovered

The Asifnagar police nabbed one Shaik Fayyaz Ahmed and recovered two stolen motorcycles and a gold chain. He confessed to have committed the crimes.

Found dead

K Anuradha, (40), of Seethaphalmandi who was reported missing from July 24, was found dead in the bushes near a railway crossing under the Chilkalguda police limits on Saturday. She was said to have consumed poison.

Succumbs to burns

A class eight student, C. Swapna who reportedly set herself afire on July 26, died on Friday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. She resorted to the extreme step after one of her teachers at school allegedly called her a thief. According to the Jeedimetla police, Swapna was a student of AVM Model school at Vallabhbhai Patel Nagar.
