Filing of cases against PW emissaries flayed

By Our Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD, JULY 31. The Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) has condemned the filing of criminal cases against the People's War emissaries, Gadar, Varavara Rao and Kalyan Rao, by the Warangal police. The committee has demanded that the cases be withdrawn for the peace talks to move forward.

In a statement here on Sunday, the general secretary of the APCLC, S. Seshaiah, and the twin cities secretary, V. Laxminarayana, said it was improper for the police to book cases at this juncture. They demanded that the Government "rein in the police" and ensure that the talks are not scuttled.
