VISAKHAPATNAM, JULY 31. The Lions Clubs International district 324 C1 will witness a series of service activities this year, according to the district governor, B. Tirupathi Raju. Talking to reporters here on Saturday, he said the district has an ambitious programme to adopt schools and organise 250 camps covering one lakh beneficiaries. It has also set itself a target of 100 agricultural awareness programmes, 50 blood donation and cancer awareness camps, 100 diabetes awareness camps, and 100 ENT surgeries.
Educational activities
Besides, it would organise educational activities, health camps, AIDS awareness rallies, heart surgery, polio surgery, veterinary camps, tree plantation, and pollution control camps on a large scale, he announced. The Lions Clubs International has been providing selfless service for the past 85 years and the district 324-c1 extended from Amalapuram to Ichchapuram, he stated. He also said the Lions Clubs' International Director, Ch. Varaprasad, had plans to conduct eye care, health care, child vaccination, quest and career guidance, educational support and national integration programmes peace activities to cover 2 crore children and help 20,000 physically challenged persons.
