Rain likely

Forecast: A spell of rain or thundershowers. At Waltair, the maximum temperature was 32.5 degree Celsius and the minimum was 26 degree Celsius respectively on Saturday. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 62 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 65 per cent.

At Airport, the maximum and minimum temperatures were 34.4 degree Celsius and 27.6 degree Celsius respectively. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 67 per cent and at 5.30 p.m was 55 per cent.

The maximum and minimum temperatures at the Dolphin's Nose were 31.3 degree Celsius and 23.9 degree Celsius. Humidity at 8.30 a.m. was 64 per cent.

Interaction meet

The Commissioner of Customs, S.C. Choudhury, highlighted the facilitator role of Customs and transparency in day-to-day work of the department at a lecture-cum-presentation at the Custom House on Friday.

This was followed by an interaction session with the members of the Indian Merchant Navy Association on Customs procedures, rules and regulations.

VLCC launches

new centre

The VLCC, India's leading slimming, beauty and fitness services and personal-care product player, opened its centre in the city on Friday. This was the 68th centre of the Rs. 100 crores turnover company, which has its presence in 39 cities across the country.

The chairperson of the VLCC, Vandana Luthra, while inaugurating the local centre, said that the concept of VLCC was to combine beauty and fitness and this had helped it to achieve a great success.

Friendship Day

at Taj Residency

Hotel Taj Residency is celebrating Friendship Day at the Lawson's Lounge from 2 to 7 pm. on Sunday.

DJ Bobsy would regale the guests with foot-tapping music. Apart from surprise gifts and friendship bands, 25 early entrants would be given a friendship cake and a Pepsi or a fruit punch on arrival.

Ticketless

passengers fined

A ticket checking drive was conducted at Simhachalam North by a railway team on Saturday under the supervision of the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, C. Venugopal. During the drive, 117 commuters were found travelling without ticket. An amount of Rs.18,851 was realised as penal fee from persons carrying excess luggage and cargo without any booking.

Free coaching
