Petrol price

hike criticised

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, JULY 30. The frequent hike in petroleum products will lead to a rise in the price of essentials, the former Union Minister, O. Rajagopal, has said. Mr. Rajagopal said in a statement here today that the powers given to the oil companies to increase the price every two weeks was against the public.

The Zam-Zam Association organised a free medical camp at the Yatheem Khana, Vallakadavu, today. The Yatheem Khana general secretary, Kandavilakom Abdul Khader Haji, inaugurated the camp. The association coordinator, A. Pradeep, presided.

The Canara Bank will be donating an ambulance to the Sri Satya Sai Orphanage Trust, Vattiyoorkavu. The general manager of the bank's Thiruvananthapuram Circle office will hand over the key to the Trust director at a function to be held at the circle office on August 3.

The Bethany Nature Cure and Yoga School here is holding its 31st yoga therapy camp at the Bethany centre, Nalanchira, from August 2 to 12, according to a press note.
