'Efforts on to free hostages'

NEW DELHI, JULY 31. The Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, tonight said every effort was being made to secure the safe and early release of three Indians held captive in Iraq.

"We are all gravely concerned," Dr. Singh told reporters at the Indira Gandhi International Airport on his return from Bangkok. He said that while in Bangkok he was monitoring the situation on a daily basis. — PTI
