Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu CHENNAI, AUG. 1. Southwest monsoon has been active over Telangana. Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at a few places over Kerala and interior Karnataka.

Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Rayalaseema and mainly dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep. Koida (Khammam dt.) recorded a heavy rainfall of 8 cms. The other chief amounts of rainfall recorded in cm are: Agumbe, Shirali, Honavar, Bhadrachalam and Yellandu (both Khammam dt.) and Kothagudem 6 each.

FORECAST (Valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and at a few places over interior Karnataka and Lakshadweep. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Rayalaseema.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Isolated heavy rain is likely to occur over Telangana during the next 48 hours.
